Tallow Soaps
Homemade small-batch tallow soap is an artisanal, deeply moisturizing skin cleanser. Made from rendered beef fat that closely mimics human skin lipids, it creates a hard, long-lasting bar with a rich, lotion-like lather. It cleanses without stripping natural oils.
Care Instructions
To get the longest life out of your small-batch tallow soap, keep it on a well-draining soap dish and avoid letting it sit in standing water between uses.

Questions We Are Frequently Asked
Where is Wandering Hooves Farmstead located?
We are located in the town of Linden, in Perry County, Tennessee.
Do you make custom or special batches of your soaps and balms?
We absolutely do! Usually we would start with a conversation with you to make sure we have all the information for your order, as well as the quantity and size of the soap or balm. We do have a minimum quantity of 48 oz. of soap and balm for initial orders.
Are your products available in any local retail stores?
No, but we are at a number of local Farmer’s Markets in the Perry County area on weekends. Check out our schedule for 2026.
Do you sell your products in bulk?
No, we keep our batches small to accommodate the changing demands of our customers.
Do you have any sample kits for new customers?
Not at this time, but we are planning on introducing something in early 2027.
